Kindergarten Registration

Registration for Kindergarten is only for families who received an offer through the New York City Department of Education. Registration FAQs

  • Q: Is PS 59 a zoned school?

    • A: Yes, PS 59 is a zoned school. Please use the NYCPS Find A School page to see if your student is eligible for enrollment.

  • Q: What is the process for registering my student at PS 59?

    • A: Parents/Guardians must complete the appropriate forms listed below, and bring them to an in-person appointment at PS 59.

  • Q: How do I make a registration appointment?

    • A: Registration appointments will start on Tuesday, April 21st and end on June 12th. Note that most appointments will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 10:00am until 11:30am. Your child must accompany you to the appointment. Please click on this link to make an appointment.

  • Q: What information do I need to bring with me to the registration appointment?

    • A: We require your student's:​

      • completed registration forms (found below)

      • immunization records

      • two proofs of address*

      • birth certificate or passport

  • Q: How long does this appointment take?

    • A: We're very quick, you should be done in less than 10 minutes!

​

  • Q: Does the prospective student need to attend this appointment?

    • A: Yes, they must attend the appointment with you. If they do not, we will not be able to pre-register your child.
