WELCOME to the NEW PS 59!

The faculty, staff and PTA of PS 59, The Beekman Hill International School,
would like to welcome you back to a wonderful new school year.
2008-2009 promises to be a year of new energy and excitement about education,
as we start school right on time in our beautiful new temporary home on 63rd Street,
play in our new gym, eat in our new cafeteria,
establish a fantastic new After-School Program with Asphalt Green,
and welcome several new teachers to the PS 59 Family.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

The first day of school is Monday, September 2, 2008.

KINDERGARTEN FAMILIES SHOULD BRING THEIR CHILD TO THE CLASSROOM AT 8:30 am.
Kindergarten will have early dismissal (11:30 am) the first Tuesday and Wednesday only.

THE SCHOOL DAY IS 8:40 AM TO 3 PM FOR GRADES 1 - 5;

8:30 AM TO 2:50 PM FOR KINDERGARTEN.


Registration for students new to the area begins on August 28th.
Please bring your child, his/her birth certificate, immunization records and your electric bill
as proof of residence in our neighborhood zone.

To register for the new on-site After-School Partnership with ASPHALT GREEN,
please contact them or the Parent Coordinator for registration information.

Staff note: Parent Coordinator Emily King has taken on the job of School Secretary
after our dear Ruth Flaschner's retirement.
She will share the office with Ann Kingston, who will be our adjunct Payroll Secretary.
They look forward to keeping our beautiful new school rolling!
